Vice President, Principal Investigator, & Project Manager
Molly A. Hall has been involved professionally in the field of archaeology for the past 19 years with projects throughout the Great Basin, the American Southwest, and the greater Texas area. Molly Hall’s academic journey was marked by a deep commitment to the field of archaeology. She achieved both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Anthropology, specializing in Archaeology, at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in 2005 and 2008, respectively.
During her undergraduate years, Molly’s dedication shone through as she actively participated in BYU’s field school in Escalante, Utah. She also gained valuable field experience in Utah and Idaho while working with a cultural resource management firm. It was during this time that she embarked on her research journey in collaboration with the Parowan Valley Archaeological Project, where she continued volunteer efforts with that project for almost a decade after graduation, further enriching our understanding of the past.
During her Master’s program, Molly’s research concentrated on the intricate world of worked bone artifacts and unraveling the complexities of Fremont social organization. Her passion for archaeology extended to teaching, as she assumed the role of a teaching assistant for the BYU field schools in southern Utah and northern Arizona in both 2006 and 2007.
Upon the completion of her Master’s degree in 2008, Molly embarked on a new chapter in her career, serving as an archaeologist at the U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground for two years. In this capacity, she conducted comprehensive surveys, authored meticulous reports, participated in Tribal consultation efforts, and utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for research and mapping in support of Section 106 compliance, showcasing her proficiency in the practical application of archaeological knowledge. Molly Hall’s academic and professional contributions show her dedication to the field of archaeology and the pursuit of knowledge, making her a valuable asset to the discipline and a beacon of expertise in her chosen field.
In 2011 she joined the ARC team eventually leading projects in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. During this time, she enhanced her skills in historic artifact analysis and lithic source identification. Molly has been the Project Manager and Principal Investigator for the Lake Ralph Hall project since the drafting of the research design in 2017, coordinating simultaneous survey and testing of the lake, pipeline, and mitigation portions of the project, which includes prehistoric and historic sites, a historic cemetery, and mitigation of a National Register Eligible District. Most recently, Molly has added the role of Vice President to her list of duties at ARC.
