Katie Phalen, ARC's Manager of Operations.

Katie Phalen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology, along with a certificate in Museum Studies, from Michigan State University in 2011. During her time at MSU, she had the opportunity to intern with the Mis Island Nubian Bioarchaeological Collection: cataloguing and identifying human osteological materials. In addition, she gained hands-on experience in archaeology by participating in MSU’s phase II field school at the Morton Village site in central Illinois.

In 2013, Katie completed her Master of Arts in Anthropology at Texas State University. Her academic focus centered on physical anthropology, with an emphasis on forensic applications. Under the guidance of her thesis advisor, Dr. Michelle Hamilton, she conducted her thesis research at Texas State’s Forensic Anthropology Research Facility (FARF). Through her research, Katie attempted to compare the taphonomic changes of clothed and unclothed human remains in Central Texas.

Then, In 2019, Katie joined AR Consultants as a field technician contributing to the Bois D’Arc Lake project. Later that year, she transitioned to an administrative role as an administrative assistant. Today, she holds the position of Manager of Operations for ARC. Furthermore, her dedication, expertise, and creative problem-solving play a pivotal role in AR Consultants’ success.
